What it does
The FrankEver Smart Water Valve is a stainless-steel ball valve with a motor and a Shelly chip built in, sized for DN20 (3/4 inch) water lines. Once a plumber has fitted it, you can open it, close it or set it anywhere from 0 to 100% in the Shelly Smart Control app, on a schedule, or by sunrise and sunset. It runs from a USB power adapter, so no mains wiring is involved.
Pair it with a Shelly Flood sensor and you can set the valve to close the supply when the sensor detects water, with an alert on your phone. It also suits a garden or tank feed that you want on a timetable, or an isolation point on a borehole line. A power reserve lets you choose whether it opens or closes if the power fails, which is useful during load-shedding.
A 1 m DS18B20 temperature probe comes in the box, so automations can react to water or air temperature. The valve is certified for drinking water (NSF), rated IP65 and handles water from 0 to 90 °C at pressures up to 1.0 MPa.
What you need
Needs a 5 V, 2 A USB-A power adapter, which is not listed as included, and a Wi-Fi network for the Shelly Smart Control app.

Install
This valve is fitted into your water supply and must be fitted by a qualified plumber.
A qualified plumber must fit the valve in line on the water pipe and confirm that its thread matches your plumbing. It runs from a USB power adapter, so no electrical work is needed.
