It knows you are there, even when you sit still.
What it does
Shelly Presence Gen4 uses mmWave radar rather than infrared, so it notices people who are sitting still, reading or working, not only those walking past. You can split a room into up to ten zones, tune the sensitivity to ignore pets and robot vacuums, and use the built-in light sensor to decide when lights should come on.
Lights stay on while someone sits at a desk or on the couch, and go off only when the room is truly empty. The same signal can switch an aircon off in an unused room to cut electricity use. It connects over Wi-Fi with Matter by default, can switch to Zigbee, and works with Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings and Home Assistant.
What you need
Needs a USB-C 5 V, 1 A power supply near where it goes, and a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Shelly recommends a dedicated adapter rather than a multi-port or fast charger.
Install
Stand it on a shelf, or fix its mounting plate to a wall or corner with screws or adhesive, about 2 m up for best coverage. It needs a USB power point nearby.
