What it does
Shelly PM Mini Gen3 is a power meter small enough to hide behind a socket or switch in a standard wall box. It measures the live consumption of whatever is connected after it, up to 16 A, and reports it to the Shelly Smart Control app. It has no relay, so it never turns the load off. It only watches and records.
That makes it a good fit for circuits you want to understand rather than control, such as a fridge, a pool pump or an office server cupboard. Watch how usage shifts on load-shedding days, spot an appliance drawing more than it used to, and work out what each one adds to your monthly bill. It also acts as a Bluetooth gateway for Shelly BLU sensors and buttons nearby, and can extend your Wi-Fi for other Shelly devices.
What you need
Needs a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and live and neutral at the mounting point. It measures only and cannot switch the load.
Install
This device is wired into your mains or DB board and must be fitted by a registered electrician.
Mains-wired into a wall box on a circuit protected by a breaker of no more than 16 A. A registered electrician must fit it. Shelly's official guide, linked on this page, shows the wiring.
