Both ends of a long-range link, in one box.
What it does
A LoRa link always needs two ends, and this pack gives you both. Each Shelly LoRa Add-On attaches to a compatible Shelly Gen3 or Gen4 device and adds a long-range radio, so the two devices can exchange commands and readings over distances of up to 5 km, depending on the terrain. Messages use Shelly's long-range protocol and are encrypted with AES-CCM.
Put one module on a relay at the borehole or an outbuilding and the other on a device at the house, and they stay in touch with no Wi-Fi in between. Set-up happens in each host's web interface and in scripts, with both modules on the same LoRa settings. Each host needs firmware 1.6 or later and keeps its normal functions.
What you need
Needs two compatible Shelly Gen3 or Gen4 devices, one for each module, sold separately. Both modules must use the same LoRa settings.
Install
This device is wired into your mains or DB board and must be fitted by a registered electrician.
A registered electrician must fit each module, because it attaches to a mains-wired Shelly device in a wall box or distribution board. Shelly's official guide is linked on this page.
