What it does
Shelly i4 Gen3 has four inputs and no output. It sits behind a wall switch plate and listens to up to four switches or push-buttons, then tells other devices what to do. A single press can turn on a group of lights, close the shutters or set off a whole scene.
It is a good fit when you want to keep the wall switches people know while the actual switching happens elsewhere, for example with smart bulbs or relays in another room. A button by the front door can become a leaving home button that switches everything off. It also acts as a Bluetooth gateway for Shelly BLU devices nearby.
What you need
Needs a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and the free Shelly Smart Control app, plus other smart devices or automations for the button presses to control.
Install
This device is wired into your mains or DB board and must be fitted by a registered electrician.
Fits in a wall box behind sockets or switches and needs live and neutral there. A registered electrician must fit it, as it connects to your mains wiring. They will follow Shelly's official wiring guide, linked on this page.
