What it does
Shelly EM Gen3 measures electricity with clip-on current clamps, so nothing is cut into the cable being measured. It has two channels on a single-phase supply. One 50 A clamp is in the box, and you can add a second to measure another circuit at the same time, such as your mains feed alongside your solar or inverter output.
Readings arrive in the Shelly Smart Control app in real time, and the meter keeps at least 10 days of one-minute data on board, so a short internet outage does not leave gaps in your history. You can view it locally in the meter's own web interface or send it on to a home automation system over MQTT or HTTP.
A built-in dry-contact relay rated 2 A at 240 V can drive a contactor. Your electrician can use it to switch off a geyser or pool pump during load-shedding or when demand climbs too high. The relay only signals the contactor, so the heavy load itself is switched by equipment your electrician sizes for it.
What you need
Comes with one 50 A clamp. To measure a second circuit, add a 50 A or 80 A clamp made for the EM Gen3.
