What it does
The Shelly Dimmer Gen3 sits in the wall box behind your existing light switch and adds smooth, trailing-edge dimming you control from the switch, the Shelly Smart Control app or a schedule. It handles dimmable LED lamps up to 150 W and incandescent or halogen lights up to 200 W, and you can set minimum and maximum brightness and a gentler night mode.
Because it works without a neutral wire, it suits older South African homes where the switch box only carries live and the switched wire. With a neutral connected it also measures power. On very light LED loads under 20 W without a neutral, add the Shelly Bypass for Dimmer Gen3 at the light fitting.
What you need
Needs dimmable lamps or drivers. If there is no neutral and the load is under 20 W, add the Shelly Bypass for Dimmer Gen3. Must be fitted by a registered electrician.
