Smart lighting where there is no neutral.
What it does
Many older homes have only a live wire at the light switch, which rules out most smart relays. Shelly 2L Gen3 is built for exactly that. It fits in the wall box behind a double switch and runs two lights independently, with no neutral needed at the switch. You control them in the Shelly Smart Control app, with your existing switches, or by voice through Alexa or Google Home.
The first channel handles up to 200 W of incandescent or LED lighting and uses the Shelly Bypass 1L/2L Gen3, which comes in the box and is fitted at the light. The second channel takes up to 700 W and also suits fluorescent lights and ceiling fans. Schedules let the lights come on while you are away or switch off when load-shedding is due.
What you need
Needs a Wi-Fi network for the Shelly Smart Control app. The included bypass must be fitted at the light on channel 1 for LED lights.

A registered electrician must fit the 2L Gen3 behind the switch and the included bypass at the light fitting on channel 1. Shelly's official wiring guide is linked on this page.
