What it does
Shelly 1PM Mini Gen3 fits behind an existing wall switch or socket and puts a light or small appliance under control of your phone. Alongside switching, it measures the power the load draws, so you can see in the Shelly Smart Control app what that circuit is using and how that changes over time.
That reading is handy when you are working out where electricity goes in a South African home, or checking what a circuit uses during load-shedding stages. You can also build rules around it, such as switching something off once it has finished drawing power. It connects to your Wi-Fi directly and also acts as a Bluetooth gateway for Shelly BLU devices nearby.
What you need
Needs a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and the free Shelly Smart Control app. No hub is required.
Install
This device is wired into your mains or DB board and must be fitted by a registered electrician.
Fits in the wall box behind an existing switch and needs live and neutral at that point. A registered electrician must fit it, as it connects to your mains wiring. They will follow Shelly's official wiring guide, linked on this page.
