What it does
The Ecowitt WS90 brings seven weather measurements together in one pole-mounted unit. An ultrasonic sensor reads wind speed and direction, a haptic sensor detects rainfall, and further sensors track temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, light and UV. With no cups, vanes or tipping bucket to wear out, there is very little to maintain once it is up.
Readings arrive in the Shelly Smart Control app, where pressure trend alerts hint at a change in the weather. Use the rain and wind data to pause irrigation after a downpour, retract an awning in strong wind, or keep a weather record for the garden, smallholding or farm. The station reports over Bluetooth to Shelly devices and over Zigbee to a compatible hub, at the same time if you like.
A built-in solar panel does most of the work, with two AA lithium batteries as backup for cloudy spells and nights. Shelly rates the batteries for up to six months on their own. For a permanent supply, an optional 12 V DC adapter powers the station too. The housing is rated IPX5, and the unit mounts on a standard 25 mm pole.
What you need
Needs a Shelly BLU Gateway or any Shelly Plus, Pro, Gen3 or Gen4 device (not a sensor) to reach the Shelly Smart Control app. Also needs two AA lithium batteries and a 25 mm pole, neither included.

Install
Mount it on a 25 mm pole in an open spot outdoors, aligned to north as marked on the unit. Use lithium AA batteries only, as Shelly warns against alkaline and rechargeable cells.
